The chief minister of Haryana has launched a new scheme for the welfare of the people of the state. The name of the scheme is Haryana’s free laptop scheme. The scheme is for the meritorious students of the state who have scored more than 90% in their class 10th examination. All these students will be named to the merit list. The scheme will encourage the students of the state to study more and get benefits from the scheme.

More about the scheme – The chief minister of Haryana Mr. Manoharall Khattar launched the free laptop Yojana during the conference for the session 2020-21. The scheme will provide free laptops to meritorious students who have excelled in class 10thexamination and have secured a rank on the merit list.

The laptops provided under the scheme will be free of cost. The scheme will provide free laptops to 500 meritorious students and girls of the state. The beneficiary of this yojana will be informed by their school. The free laptops under the scheme will be distributed by the Deputy commissioner. The benefits and procedures to apply for the scheme are discussed below.

Highlights of the scheme The chief minister of Haryana Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar announced free laptop yojana for the meritorious students of the state. The beneficiary of the scheme will be meritorious students and girls of Haryana. Under this scheme, free laptops will be distributed by the Haryana government to the beneficiaries. The scheme will encourage the students to work hard.

Students who are unable to buy laptops due to weak financial conditions will be benefitted from this scheme. The application procedure for this Yojana is online. The beneficiaries of the scheme will be informed by their school. Only students who have scored 90% or more in class 10th final examinations are eligible for the scheme.

List of beneficiaries of the scheme or Categories of Haryana Free Laptop Yojana

There are five categories to provide a free laptops to the beneficiaries of the scheme. The categories are prepared by the education department of Haryana. These categories are as under-

  • The first category- First 100 toppers (irrespective caste, gender or income limit) of class 10th board examinations.
  • The second category – Top 100 girls in the general category
  • The third category – Top 100 boys from scheduled caste category
  • The fourth category – Top 100 girls belonging to scheduled caste category
  • Fifth category – Top 100 students from below poverty line category

The laptops will help the students to prepare for higher education. All the government schools will be informed by the Haryana government about the scheme. Haryana Free Laptop Scheme Objective – The major objective of the scheme is to encourage students to work hard and to study more. As the scheme will cover the students who secure more than 90% in class 10th board exams, other students will be motivated.

Secondly, these free laptops will be given to the students who are unable to afford the laptop due to financial conditions. In the era of digitalization, having a laptop is very necessary. Due to Covid-19, the lockdown was imposed and all schools and colleges were closed. During this time, it was essential for the students to have laptops so that they can continue with their studies as all classes were online. As students were selected on a merit basis for this scheme, they will feel recognized and appreciated, this will motivate them to work hard in the future.

Benefits of Haryana Free Laptop Yojana

  • Haryana Free Laptop Yojana is announced to encourage the students towards education.
  • Under this scheme, students who belong below the poverty line will be benefited from free new laptops. The annual income of the family should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs.
  • From July 3rd 2022, the free laptops will be distributed to the beneficiaries.
  • The scheme plans to distribute free laptops to 500 meritorious students of the state. The laptops will be distributed by the Deputy Commissioner.

The eligibility criteria as specified by the state government for the scheme are under-

  • The beneficiary of the scheme should be a resident of Haryana.
  • Students who have scored 90% or above in class 10th examinations can take benefit from this scheme.
  • The benefit of the scheme will be provided to the students whose family income does not exceed Rs 2.5 lakhs annually.
  • The beneficiary of the scheme should belong to one of the categories stated by the Haryana Education Department.

The applicant of the scheme should possess the following documents while applying for the scheme-

  • Aadhar card of the applicant
  • Family income certificate

How to apply for Haryana Free Laptop Yojana?

The state government of Haryana will designate an education department to implement the scheme. students do not have to do anything on their own, they do not have to apply for the scheme on their own.

The government schools will receive letters or they will be notified by the concerned department of the names of the beneficiary of the scheme. There is no information regarding the application process of the scheme. The state government of Haryana has promised to distribute free laptops under the scheme and beneficiaries will receive the benefit of the scheme. All information regarding the scheme will be sent to the school of the beneficiary.

How will the scheme be implemented?

The concerned department will make the list of beneficiaries according to the category specified by the education department of Haryana. Beneficiaries who have a family annual income below Rs. 2.5 lakhs will be benefited from the scheme. The admission record of the beneficiary will be asked by the concerned department. The government schools will be notified about the free laptop scheme. The scheme will be implemented in all districts of Haryana state, this will encourage students to study more.
