It is made by the Serum Institute of India in Pune and now the price of this vaccine has been reduced to Rs.300/- by the government. The vaccine appeared to be 70.4% effective in 2020 and is based on the results of Internatium clinical trials in the United Kingdom and Brazil, which tested 11,633 volunteers. Its effect is seen to be 90% after taking both doses. After having this vaccine, you may experience pain, warmth, redness, tenderness, swelling, itching, etc., which are only seen in 1 in 10 people.

  1. Sir, I am vaccinated with Covidshield though I have high BP (190-120). First I took medicine with the doctors advice. Once It becomes normal (120-80) and continued to take these medicines, I am getting Vaccinated. No issue at all except body pain for a day. Consult your Doctor before vaccination.

    • Doctor my son got fever, body pain and BP with 140/85.He is not able to sleep well during night time. Can he take BP medicine along with Paracetamol tablet. He is 24years of age.

According to fact sheet posted on Bharat Biotech website it is advisable not to take this vaccine if a person has allergies, fever or bleeding disorder, weaker immunity or are on a medicine that affects immune system. I am suffering from bleeding problem through stool. also I am on medication of ecosprin ( a blood thinner ), metformin & glimpiride and also high blood pressure medicine. these medication compromises immunity. should i go for bharat biotech covaxin or other vaccine. Piease guide me.

  11. Sir I am a patient of recurrent venous ulcers in my left leg. I have a history of 2 times pulmonary embolism, once in 2017 and other in 2020. I am currently suffering from venous ulcers.
